SHS'61? From: Maureen Sent: Mon 10/15/07 5:07 PM Hello Classmates, I'm sending Fall greetings, and will do it again in the Spring. I'm also asking again: send me news items about yourselves, anything at all. For example, Wayne Gonyea and I live (hopefully not die) for the Red Sox! I'm sorry for Scotty that we're going to beat Cleveland for the pennant! I then count the days till spring training starts... We had a nice class lunch at the Country Club on Alumni Day, attended by about 12 people, with a surprise guest, Simone Hardy Johnson, who has moved back to Claremont. We hope to have it again next year, and hope that more will attend. My latest "brilliant" idea: it occured to me recently that September, 2008 will be 60 years that we all started kindergarten. My 87 year old Dad is still friends with two of his kindergarten classmates, and awhile ago they got together to celebrate that 80 years ago they graduated from kindergarten! That gave me the idea to maybe have a 60 year celebration of some sort, maybe at Bluff School. I'd love to hear from any of you that might have thoughts/ideas about this. It would also be nice to track down some of our young friends who moved away then, or during elementary school. We have a good beginning balance in our class treasury for our 50th anniversary gift to SHS--but we need more! For those of you who made pledges, please send in your payments. For others, remember that every little bit helps, even if it's just $10.00. And, if you happen to win the lottery, you could maybe give more than $10.00! Happy Holidays, and all the best for 2008!
