July, 2006
Hello Classmates,
For those of you who came to our 45th reunion--I hope
you had a good time, in spite of all the rain! For those of you who didn’t come, you missed a good time, and we
hope to see you soon. Thanks to everyone who helped, especially the faithful
Claremont workers! There are some
great photos on our class website.
Please check this website regularly, as it will keep running (thanks to
Dave Hale), and the class bios are now there.
You can get to it through the Stevens Alumni site,
(http://www.stevensalumninh.com) or, if you want a direct link that you can
paste into your browser, email me or Dave, and we’ll send it to you.
Another thanks to Jerry and Eedie Dopp, who did the
original bio website.
I am sending this letter by mail to everyone, and
enclosing a recent email address list.
If anyone does not want to be on the list, or does not
want to receive email from me or SHS 61, please let me know. Otherwise, future newsletters will be sent
by email to those on the list, and by mail to others. If some of you have email, but are not on the list yet, please
let me know.
I would like to send out two or three newsletters each
year, so would love to have “news” to put in--not only class business, but
personal news items (eg. retirements, new grandchildren, moves, anything you
want). Please feel free to give me any
ideas.
In addition, I would like to set up some kind of
lunch/picnic for after the parade on Alumni weekend EACH year; many live in
Claremont of course, but some of us go to Claremont for that day or weekend
each year, or might be encouraged to if we are getting together.
Let me know what you think of that idea, and also
ideas for where we could meet.
It would be fun to get together, WITHOUT having to do
all the work!
At the same time, it’s not too early to start planning
for our big 50th reunion. One thing
we’d like to do is invite people who grew up in our class, but maybe didn’t
actually graduate with us (eg. Binney Clark, Clay Hawkins, Eileen
Ferriter). Please send me names of
anyone you remember in this category.
Or anyone else that might be “lost” or forgotton.
Chick Rathbun’s family would like any memorabilia
about him (photos, articles), so if you have any, please send them to me, and
I’ll forward them.
Speaking of our 50th, and now that the 45th is over,
please consider giving/pledging a donation for our class financial gift to
Stevens. Time goes fast, but the more
we can collect now, the more interest we’ll earn. Any amount would be appreciated! (lots of small amounts, can add up to a big amount)
I hope you all have a wonderful summer. Stay in touch!
All the best,
Maureen
