Judy Karen (Holmes) Cook.
It doesn't look like I will be able to get to NH for this reunion. My
husband and I will be taking a transatlantic cruise from April 22
through May 13th to celebrate our 40 years of marriage. We'll be making
stops in Bermuda, the Azores, Ireland, France and England. I just
don't see a way to travel again in just a few weeks.
Cookie works for Home Depot (part time) and can't get time off to close
together. If I were to make it,it would be a very last minute deal with
a flight special into Manchester or Bradley.
As to my activities over the past 45 years, they can be summarized as
teaching, administrating, raising two boys and lots of travel. I taught
US History and other social studies classes for 33 years in Merrimack,
NH, and six years as an adjunct professor on the college level. During
most of that time I served as the Social Studies Department Head and
helped to coordinate the social studies curriculumdistrict-wide.
As I started to have grandchildren of my earliest high school students,
we decided to retire early and move permanently to Florida. We selected
the Bradenton Area because the white beaches are superb and so far, the
hurricanes have traveled all around us.
I am still substitute teaching to earn money for travel. We've visited
all of the US states (except Oregon), 8 Canadian Provinces, most Middle
American countries and a few in So. America. We've visited almost all
of the European nations except those on the most eastern edge of Europe
and a few in Africa. Only Asia and Australia beckon in the future.
We have two sons and three grandsons. One family lives outside of
Columbia, So. Carolina and the other outside of Orlando, Fl. He is the
Disney buff...working for them full time in computer communications and
giving VIP Tours of our parks.
Please give my best to all who join in this really important celebration. I'll try to do better for the 50th.
