Nancy Eroszonak Norwalk
Married to Albert - 41 years
2 Children: Ken and Amy, both living in the area and doing well.
2 Grandchildren: Gabrielle (3), Aniken (2 months).
After graduating from Northampton Commercial College, worked for the US
government in Washington, DC, where I met my husband. Moved back to New
Hampshire (Plainfield) in 1970 and have lived here since. Al is retired
from Dartmouth College where he was a computer operator.
Became the sole librarian at the public library - just by chance - and
found the perfect job. Thirty-five years ago, the library was open only
4 hours a week; now it's 26 hours a week. Two years ago, after much
hard work, we built an addition which almost tripled the space. Since
this is a "part time" job, I also work 20 hours a week at Kimball Union
Academy in the Alumni/Development Office as an alumni assistant and
database manager. Both positions complement each other and I enjoy them.
Being librarian has naturally led to a lot of volunteer involvement in
town and an interest in local history and preservation. Current
volunteer activities include being archivist for the historical
society, co-chair of the Maxfield Parrish Stage Set Committee (charged
with the care and preservation of the stage set Parrish (American
artist and town resident) designed for the town hall in 1916), Town
Hall Committee (charged with the preservation of the 200-year-old
building), and co-editor of the monthly town newspaper. Two of the
projects I especially loved were being co-editor, typist and one of the
authors of our 750-page town history published in 1991 and being
typist, technical editor and indexer of a Cornish Colony history
published in 1996. I have thoroughly enjoyed all the varied projects I
have been involved in.
For additional fun, I was a member of the Izmira Middle Eastern Dance Troupe for over 20 years.
This small town really keeps me busy. And now, the grandkids do, too.
